OLA Electric was founded in 2017, they have been developing their own battery technology. Which is still under progress, alongside OLA Cabs have also been promoting EV sector by providing EV cabs in the areas where air quality is low.
But now they are going to enter commercial sector with opening up world's largest EV factory in Tamil Nadu. Last year OLA Electric acquired Amsterdam based company Etergo BV. The company is planning to enter with same concept of "Etergo app scooter". The company has not yet provided any information about technical specs of the scooter. Ola electric founder Bhavesh Agarwal stated that the price of the scooter will competitively be aggressive. The scooter will be a performance based product. First batch of the line - up is expected to hit the roads by June 2021. The product is expected to come with 2KW motors and "banana" batteries. The concept design tells us that front wheel will have mono suspension. With ola badging on front side, led drls, and a 60L boot space. The whole project is being developed on a 500 acres of land and is expected to be completed by end of next year. The project is capable of producing one unit of scooter in every 2 second. Ola also plans to export their product to many other countries. And lastly they have planned to produce 15% units of the entire globe. Which makes this "future factory", world's largest EV factory.
