Valorant is a 5v5 team based competitive PC game which is being loved by Indian Gamers, Streamers, and normal casual game lovers. But what are the reasons for such explosive growth of the game and that too suddenly?! We will try to find that out.

One of the biggest reasons this game got popularity was because of the ban imposed by the Government of India on popular mobile based game PUBG Mobile. This game was loved and played by crores of Indians which induced the interest of people in Online Games. Good alternatives on mobiles were COD Mobile and Garena Free Fire but they did not the graphics as good as PUBG, also COD is a 5v5 less exciting when played solo on mobile. Valorant provided the solution, it launched its beta version on 7th of April 2020 which was exclusive for well known Twitch and YouTube streamers which created the hype needed.
Second reason being the low PC requirements of the game and easy to understand and user interface.

30 FPS monitor
and majority of Indian households have low end PCs and laptops which can load only small games which require less resources and that is why this game gave the solution.
Third reason was the shift of the Indian Esports scene from PUBG to Valorant, CSGO was also an alternative but the graphics are not very visually appealing, and the user interface is much tougher in the latter. Indian streamers also adopted the idea and left the hopes of PUBG making a boom comeback which led them to switch to Valorant.
A minor reason could be that this game is free and just requires minimal resources and a good internet connection which was missing in majority of houses but due to covid, lockdown, digital classes, parents had no option but to install routers and avail for an internet connection.
Another minor reason could be the number of customizations and collectibles provided in the game. The skins of the weapons, player cards, additional rewards, and the sense of pride for securing a rank is irreplaceable.
The fourth major reason would be the amount of diversity this game provides which attracts all types of game lovers. Even if you have a decent aim you can enter the game and provide assistance according to your play style and different abilities. There are different categorized agents for different players, Duelists for aggressive players, Controllers for assisting Duelists, Sentinels for helping in the defense sides and Initiators for gaining information for other teammates.
