"Age is just a number, mentality is by choice" and there are no better people than football players who prove this statement Had someone told me 10- 15 years ago that 35- 39 year olds would be dominating leagues like Premier League and Serie A, I would have laughed at you, but times are changing and so is the beautiful game. Lets have a look at some players who have redesigned fitness standards and are a living prove of age is just a number.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus FC)

Throughout his illustrious career Cristiano has played for

some of the top clubs in Europe like Manchester United ,Real Madrid and now Juventus, the veteran Portuguese shows no sign of slowing down. An age where others consider retirement Cristiano is busy breaking records and creating some, and did I mention he's the leading scorer of Serie a so far this season , AGAIN!.

Had someone told me that this man would be finishing his career in the premier league last year I would have called you a psycho. Signed from PSG on a free at the age of 36, an age where most players prefer to go to Qatar or the MLS and play for money. Silva choose the toughest league in the world and he has adapted to life in England in no time. Where Chelsea's big money signings who are in their twentie's are struggling to adapt to the

premiere league. Not ony he is a regular starter, he also plays full 90 minutes nearly every game which is pretty impressive for a 36 year old particularly for a defender in the premier league who has to come up against the best players in the world week in and week out.

Sergio Ramos ( Real Madrid)-

Sergio Ramos like a bottle of fine wine, just keeps getting better with age. Turning 35 this year the Real Madrid captain shows no sign of slowing down. Possibly the greatest defender over the last decade. He has won every major trophy but the Spanish still plays with the same determination and passion week in and week out. His best years may be past him but Sergio Is still better then many young defenders out there. he is still as important to Madrid as he was 15 years ago when he signed. Ramos is more than a defender who has a knack of getting late goals and making his team win with the most iconic being the header in the champions league final against the Atletico Madrid.

Yes you read that right, the man is 42 years old but still plays like he is in his early twenties. It is still crazy to imagine now a man can still have such determination and hunger even at the age of 42, where most people enjoy their retirement life, Buffon is competing with players in their 20s at the highest level.
