Ongoing series between number 1 and number 2 , one day international rankings, is proven to be far more competitive. And one of the big names including Kuldeep Yadav, is one of the highlight of the series, after finally finding a place in playing 11, fans were happy to see him again after a long period but it hasn't been right for left handed "Chinamen", after a wicket less spell in first one day international, with economy of more than 7 and more than 8 in second one day international, left arm spinner hasn't been remarkable.

The question still stands, What is going wrong with Kuldeep Yadav ?

Well, we have analysed his bowling in 2019 compared with 2021. Starting upfront with line and length of Kuldeep Yadav.

Line and Length :-

2019 Line and Length :-

Line of Kuldeep Yadav to right handed batsmen was typically towards off side, inviting batsmen to drive and get a wicket in form of stumping or caught and leg before wicket. Point is this is typical line which bowler's usually aim for wickets. This line seemed to be quite successful for Kuldeep Yadav too. The length varied between good and full, which earned him wickets.

2021Line and Length:-

Kuldeep Yadav changed his line towards middle and leg stump for Right handed batsmen, we saw this length for first time by left handed bowler, during 3rd one day international against Australia, where this line seemed to have worked for him, but in 2021, the economy of spinner touched more than 8. This line is too risky to be bowled, if the bowl pitches on leg stump it's straight forward hitting range for right handed batsmen. The length hasn't been good enough too, Kuldeep Yadav have started pitching bowl more fuller, which makes it slot for batsmen to hit.

Average speed in 2019 :-

Average speed Kuldeep Yadav bowled in 2019 was more than 70 Kmph and less than 80 Kmph, which caused batsmen to step out and hit, this resulted in many wickets.

Average speed in 2021:-

Average speed Kuldeep Yadav is bowling in 2021 is more than 80kmph and less than 90Kmph and sometimes even in higher 70's, due to high speed and fuller length, with line being within middle and leg stump, batsmen can easily play him on front foot .

What can Kuldeep Yadav do to get wickets with his current technique ?

Kuldeep Yadav line is a big issue for him, he is unable to get the angle right so that the ball pitches between 4th stump (off side) and off stump. For this Kuldeep Yadav can try to bowl from "Around the popping crease" this can lead towards much better angle, lately length has also effected, he can try to bowl with slightly lesser pace, so that bowl can be pitched somewhere near good length.
