Harjas Bajwa

Marvel Studios, Latest series "What If?.." released it's 2nd episode and the story line is about T' Challa being Star lord instead of Peter Quill, the episode features many popular characters from the comics, which we are going to talk about. Before starting we would like to give spoiler alert! If you have not watched episode 2 of the series, you may close this blog.

Storyline:-

The episode starts in "Wakanda" where young T' Challa is abducted by the "Ravangers" instead of Peter Quill, eventually T' Challa ends up becoming "Star Lord" and join hands with Yondu.

Supporting Characters:-

There are bunch of supporting characters in the episode such as Thanos, Nebulla, The Collector, Yondu.

Orignal Storyline V/S New Storyline (episode 2):-

In the original storyline, we saw Peter Quill was abducted by "Ravangers" as shown in "Guardians of Galaxy" . According to "What If?" Episode 2, we get to see how Ravangers mistook T'challa and abducted him instead of Peter Quill. The original timeline features Peter Quill as "Star Lord" who is a thief, all into money. Episode 2 shows different side of "Star Lord" where his purpose is to steal stuff and give it to needy. The only main highlight of the both storylines is they are contrast, but the events occurring are the same with variations just like the episode 1 of the series.

What makes episode extra ordinary ?

One element makes the whole episode extra ordinary, that is contrasting traits of the characters we have known so far from the "Marvel Cinematic Universe" . For instance the episode features Thanos, who no more has intention to wipe out universe, and how the good side of Thanos comes out in the episode really makes watcher feel that the biggest villain is now living is retired life. Secondly the storyline, how Youdu is influenced by T' Challa and now Ravangers are no more money minded, episode features a scene where "The Collector" have captured "Wakandan" aircraft, which gets detected by the necklace of the T'Challa. Bringing out villains with their positive side in the episode is one of the brilliant ideology. And last aspect is the screenplay and dialogues, the whole episode keeps the person engaged to watch the episode.

Theories of the future of the timeline shown in the episode 2:

Although episode ends with T'Challa returning to "Wakanda" still question stands, will he become "Black Panther" or not. Since T'Challa was not present in "Wakanda" for quite a long, could it be "Kill Monger" or "The Black Panther" never came into existence. Secondly the end of episode features, Ego taking away Peter Quill with him, obviously he will not be "Star Lord" in this timeline, but he can definitely become a celestial like his father always wanted. Third and the final theory since Peter Quill stayed quite a long on Earth, "The Guardians of Galaxy" couldn't even exist.
